Bert Harlan Berkley

Bert Harlan Berkley was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 20, 1944 at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. His military occupational speciality and number was rifleman 745/Command infantryman. He served as a PFC with infantry company 151st infantry; component AUS in southern Luzon, Philippine Island.

His awards and decorations include the World War II Victory Medal; teh Good Conduct Medal, the Asian-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze service stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star. He served overseas for eight months and 21 dyas. Bert received an honorable discharge on February 18, 1946 at Fort Chaffe, Arkansas. While in the Philippines, Bert suffered from malaria and was a patient in the 49th General Hospital on Luzon.
