Charlie Pink Delashmit served as a corporal in Battery A, 115th Field Artillery in England, France and Luxembourg. His campaigns included a defensive position north of toul from August 28 until September 10, 1918; St. Michael offensive from September 11 until September 13, 1918; Battle of Argonne Forest, west of the Muse with the 1st American army from September 25 until October 5, 1918; in the Valley of Woener with the 2nd Army from October 10 until November 11, 1918. Charlie’s commanding officer, captain Hugh E. Buckingham, wrote that Charlie’s character was excellent.
