Cpl. John Wesley Bradshaw (15 June 1879 – 2 Dec 1918)
Corporal John Wesley Bradshaw was born in Burlison, Tipton County to James W. and Mary E. Bradshaw on June 15, 1879. A farmer in Burlison, he married Jennie Wilson on Jan. 11, 1901, and he was the father of three children.
At the age of 39, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Ft. Logan, Jonesboro, Ark. He trained at Camp Pike in Little Rock, Ark and in Alexandria, La. During the Great War, he served in Co. D, 127th, Inf. Reg., 153rd Infantry.
He died on Dec. 2, 1918 in France was originally buried there. Four years later, his body was brought back to Tipton County and he is now buried in Shiloh Cemetery in Burlison.
