Hugh L. Dawson, Sr. , was born on November 11, 1893 and died on September 21, 1921.

He was inducted into the U. S. Army on July 8, 1918. Hugh Sr., served as a private, in Company C of the 26th Machine Gun Battalion, Camp Sheridan, Alabama.  Hugh Sr. was  honorably discharged on February 6, 1919 at Fort Olgethorpe, Georgia.
