Charles Lanny Bridges of Bolton, joined the U. S. Army in Memphis, Tennessee on March 1, 1966. Serving as a track mechanic Tech 5, his last command was company a, troop command, U. S. Army Pacific. His awards include: the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Lanny received an honorable discharge on February 29, 1972 after serving three years active duty and more than three years with the army reserve.
Lanny was killed while serving in the line of duty with the Covington Police on August 14, 1997.
