Floyd Russell Craig served three years in the U. S. Army with Company G, 29th Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia from 1926 to 1929.

Floyd married Oma Sue Kirkland. They had one daughter, Mary Sue. He then married Willie Sue Grant; they had no children. Floyd died on August 27, 1980, and is buried in Helen Crigger Cemetery, Munford, Tennessee.
