Oliver Banks Zenar

Oliver Banks Zenar entered service in the U. S. Army on December 8, 1942 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Trained at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and promoted to Tech 5, Oliver went to the European Theater as a messenger with the 100th infantry division in October, 1944. He was wounded in France on November 15, 1944 and transferred to a hospital in England. Transferred back to the 100th division, Oliver finally returned to America. With the 36th Infantry Division. His awards and decorations included: the Purple Heart Medal; the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. Oliver was honorably discharged on December 30, 1945 at Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania.
