Chad Austin Bohnert

U.S. Army 2015 – 2019

Chad joined the United States Army in January 2015 and served in Germany as a Military Police Officer.  He was honorably discharged as a Specialist (E4) after three and a half years of active service and placed in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).

In 2018, he joined the Tipton County Sherriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer where he served in the Tipton County Jail until being hired by the Covington Police Department in October 2020.  After graduating from the Police Academy, he worked as a patrol officer in the Patrol Division.  Chad is a highly effective officer and shift leader.

Chad recently completed his IRR obligation.  For his service to our Nation, Chad was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon.

Chad was nominated for Veteran of the Month by his boss, Covington Police Chief Donna Turner.
