Bennie Solon Carver was inducted on March 20, 1969 and transferred to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at Camp Pendleton, California. He served with the 1st Marine Division in Vietnam. His awards include: the good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Ribbon, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm and frame, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and the Combat Action Ribbon. Bennie was honorably discharged on September 9, 1970, as a corporal.
