Joe C. Coats was drafted into the U. S. Army on February 4, 1952. His basic training was at Camp Pickett, Virginia. After basic training he was assigned to the 118th Medical Battalion, 43rd Infantry Division. He was shipped to Munich, Germany. Joe served the rest of his duty in Munich, with the Medical Corp. He was honorably discharged on January 28, 1954.
